NEGR - Northeast Girls Recruiting

Prep Profiles: Tilton School

Coach Tara Brisson is beginning her 10th year at the helm of the Tilton Girls’ Basketball program. In 9 seasons, the program has compiled an overall record of 191-42 winning 9 straight Lakes Region Championships as well as 5 NEPSAC Championships in the last 7 years.

Last season was Tilton’s first competing in Class A, the highest Class in NEPSAC girls’ basketball. Although they suffered a disappointing loss in the NEPSAC semifinals, Tilton is poised to make another deep playoff run this season. After losing 5 players to graduation and who moved on to play college basketball (Abby Settelmeyer – University of Vermont, Nicole Ladas – St. Michael’s, Nicole Freddo – St. Anselm’s, Chanelle Camah – Lynn University, & Maddie Clark – Wesleyan University), Coach Brisson will look to two returning players from a season ago to provide valuable on and off court experience and leadership.

Senior point guard Morgan Higgins returns as the lone starter from last year’s team. Higgins averaged 12.3 points per game to go along with 4.4 assists per game. She is a floor general and Coach Brisson expects her to lead this team from beginning to end.

Also returning is junior shooting guard Aislinn McMahon. McMahon made huge strides over the summer to become one of the most consistent shooters in the NEPSAC every time she steps on the floor. Her ability to score along with her consistent toughness will help Tilton immensely through their tough schedule.

Coach Brisson welcomes six new players this season and all will find a way to contribute. All of them are expected to make an immediate impact.

Elizabeth “Liza” Field is a sophomore, step-out post with the ability to hurt you with her back to the basket or facing up. She is wise beyond her years and her relentless motor will allow her to make an immediate impact for this team.

Jaelyn Miles is a strong post whose presence in the paint will be felt immediately. She rebounds the ball with authority on the offensive and defensive end.

Sophie George is a freshman point guard who does not play like a freshman. Her smarts and poise at an important position will help us immediately.

Cassandra Caldwell is a postgraduate whose speed and outside shooting will hurt you offensively and defensively. She is a superior athlete who will disrupt many teams defensively.

Imanni Wright ’19 is a 5’6 combo guard from Bloomingfield Hills, Michigan. Wright is a slashing guard who can score in a variety of ways. Her on ball defense is tenacious and relentless. She will make an immediate impact on both side of the ball for this Tilton team.

Marta Estany-Sanchez ’20 is a 5’7 shooting guard from Barcelona, Spain. Estany-Sanchez is a slippery, fundamentally sound guard who will play some key minutes for this team this season.

Expectations for this Tilton team this season resemble expectations from all the years past in Coach Brisson’s time – Become a FAMILY and win a Lakes Region and NEPSAC Championship – in that order. Tilton will look to obtain their first-ever Class A Championship in Tilton School girls’ basketball history along with their 10th straight Lakes Region Championship.

Tilton’s biggest games are always against their cross-town rival, New Hampton School. But over the past couple of years they have developed a great relationship with Proctor, Nobles, Rivers, Worcester Academy, and Marianapolis and those games are always great battles.

The Tilton School is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory school in Tilton, New Hampshire, serving students from 9th to 12th grade and postgraduates.
