Last season, The Big Red had a successful season going 16-10 overall including wins over Phillips Andover and St. George’s School in the regular season. In the 8 Schools Athletic Association Quarterfinals, the team had a key win over Deerfield Academy.

The Big Red has a couple of key returners from last season that will be sure to make an impact this year. Ruby Cheetham ’18 is a senior captain for this team who understands the system and what the team needs. She can play the point or off the ball. Madeline Buffett ’18 is also a senior captain who has the ability to play both guard or forward spots. Adia Burrows ’19 is a junior post who has a great touch and solid footwork around the basket. Jaclyn Donohue ’19 is a terrific athlete who runs the floor and is a three point threat. Donohue was selected for the 8 Schools Athletic Association All-Tournament Team last season. Sophie Ward 19 is another forward for this team who has a good touch around the basket. Finally, Jaxy Marquez ’20 is a point guard who runs the team with good vision and the ability to shoot from deep. Marquez was also selected for the 8 Schools Athletic Association All-Tournament Team as well as being voted a Class ‘A’ All-Star.

New to the team this year are Ella Stewart ’20 and Elizabeth Isevemi ’19. Ella was a New Hampshire 2nd Team All-State Selection last season for Fall Mountain High School. Isevemi is on the Nova Scotia Provincial Team and was voted the Dartmouth High School Rookie of the Year last season.

The Big Red expects to be competitive this year and will play a schedule that includes Northfield Mount Hermon, Phillips Andover Academy, Tilton School, Choate Rosemary Hall, Proctor Academy, Brewster Academy, Kimball Union Academy, and Thayer Academy. In addition, the team is looking forward to traveling to New York City in January to play in the “Say Yes to Success Showcase.”
