The ZG Select Boston Fall Showcase took place September 22-23, 2018 at the Starland Sports Complex in Hanover, MA. Our scouts were in attendance and we got the chance to watch a handful of younger players and teams who were competing in the tournament.

CT Attack Lightning
Hannah Van Dyke • Class of 2022 • 5’9 • Pos: G • Glastonbury – Van Dyke has deep shooting range and cuts very well within the offense when she doesn’t have the ball. She is an integral piece of their offense and is a noticeably good teammate.
Kaitlyn Welsh • Class of 2022 • 5’8 • Pos: G • Glastonbury – Welsh has a slasher mentality, handles the ball very well, and finishes very strong around the hoop.
Nyasia Dogans • Class of 2022 • 5’6 • Pos: G/F • East Catholic – Dogans does a good job of denying on the defensive end. On the offensive end, she uses her body to finish and is a smart screener.
Tacia Mazimpaka • Class of 2022 • 5’8 • Pos: F • West Springfield – Mazimpaka is a long post player who can handle. She has good screen and roll tactics with the ability to finish in traffic. On the defensive end, her length is a huge plus.

Sage Fortin • Class of 2023 • 5’4 • Pos: PG • Winthrop MS – Fortin is a scrappy point guard with fast feet, uses ball and body fakes to move the defense, and has a quick crossover. On the defensive end, she is just as quick and scrappy and gives the ball handler trouble.
Grace Ramsdell • Class of 2022 • 6’0 • Pos: F/C • Wells – Ramsdell cleans the boards and does a good job of making sure she doesn’t get caught too deep. She makes hard cuts that contribute to the flow of the offense.
Sarah Talon • Class of 2022 • 5’7 • Pos: PG • Windham – Talon is a long and athletic guard who uses her length to clog passing lanes. On the offensive end, she has good form and has deep range.

Avery O’Connor • Class of 2022 • 5’11 • Pos: G • Dedham – O’Connor is a solid wing player who can manage in traffic. On the defensive end, she is excellent on the ball and providing pressure while looking to get deflections and steals.
Maggie Regan • Class of 2022 • 6’3 • Pos: C • Medway – Regan does an excellent job of boxing out and then going to get the ball. She does a good job of staying straight up on the defensive end. On the offensive end, Regan has solid court awareness in understanding when to kick the ball out of the post or go up and finish it herself.
Sophia Vital • Class of 2022 • 5’4 • Pos: PG • Cambridge Rindge and Latin – Vital is a super athletic point guard with a plus handle. She has the ability to get to the basket at will and finish both right and left with contact.
Shay Bollin • Class of 2022 • 6’2 • Pos: F • Bridgewater-Raynham – Bollin has the ability to play inside-out with solid fundamentals. She has a good handle and can attack off the dribble both right and left and finish with contact. With her size, Bollin is capable of making back to the basket moves both right and left with the ability to knock down the 3-ball as well.
Kayley Carignan • Class of 2022 • 5’4 • Pos: G • Westford – Carignan is a strong shooter and slasher. She is a tenacious defender who is a plus rebounder for her size and position.
Sheyenne Swain-Price • Class of 2023 • 6’1 • Pos: F/C • O’Donnell Middle School – Swain-Price is a very strong finisher and slashes well from the top of the key. She uses her body exceptionally well on her finishes. On the defensive end, Swain-Price does a great job of talking and communicating with her teammates.
Sophia Fontaine • Class of 2022 • 6’2 • Pos: C • Cathedral – Fontaine closes out high and uses her length to her advantage. On the offensive end, she finishes high and uses the glass extremely well. Fontaine is explosive to the boards and has a nice midrange jumper.
Chayil Mauristhene • Class of 2023 • 5’6 • Pos: G • Noble & Greenough – Mauristhene has a nice handle – that coupled with her quickness and use change of speed/direction is able to get by her defender.
Tayla Barros • Class of 2022 • 5’7 • Pos: G • Cathedral – Barros runs the floor hard, has a nice handle, and finishes high off the glass.
Ciana Gibson • Class of 2022 • 5’6 • Pos: G • Cathedral – Gibson makes good decision in the half court offense. She has the ability to finish both right and left when she attacks, even off some awkward angles. Gibson rips boards down like she is a big and is a plus rebounder for her size and position.
Rachel Barach • Class of 2022 • 5’11 • Pos: F • Carlisle – Barach is a great passer with the ability to see the next play before it’s happening. She finishes well with contact, understands her role, is scrappy, and overall is a good teammate.
Nina Minicozzi • Class of 2022 • 5’6 • Pos: PG • Belmont – Minicozzi is a great floor general for her teammate who controls the tempo, knowing when to push the ball in transition or slow it down and settle. She can score on all 3 levels and has a plus handle.
Aiohbe Gormley • Class of 2022 • 5’8 • Pos: PG • Thayer Academy – Gormley is a true point guard who keeps her head up and pushes the ball up the floor with intensity. She does a good job of attacking and manipulating the defense to finish at the rim.
Katherine Kissell • Class of 2022 • 5’5 • Pos: G • Westwood – Kissell is a combo guard who handles well both in the open court and in traffic, always with her head up. She has good instincts and can knock down the 3-ball.

Gina Lombard • Class of 2020 • 5’6 • Pos: PG/G • Beaver Country Day – Lombard is a very deep 3 point shooter who uses screens great to get open for her shot. She keeps her eyes up, has a nice jab, and creates space to get her shot off. Lombard has a great understanding of spacing within the half court offense.
Caroline Alexander • Class of 2020 • 5’10 • Pos: C • Newton North – Alexander plays long and has great screen concepts and seals well. She has a solid and consistent midrange jumper game.
Sharon Pongnon • Class of 2020 • 5’11 • Pos: F/C • Buckingham Browne & Nichols – Pongnon has a nice mid-paint jumper. She sets solid screens and calls for the ball. Pongnon takes contact well and can finish consistently around the hoop.
Taylor Bailey • Class of 2020 • 5’7 • Pos: PG • Newton North – Bailey has a good open court handle along with a good pull-up jumper. She is also a capable shooter from 3. On the defensive end, she is a solid positional defender.
Mia Mancini • Class of 2022 • 5’2 • Pos: G • Wheeler School – Mancini is a deep 3 point set shooter. She has the ability to penetrate and distribute the ball well to open shooters. On the defensive end, she is ball-hawking defender who makes the opposing ball handler uncomfortable.
Claire Finney • Class of 2022 • 5’5 • Pos: G • Central Catholic – Finney is a solid 3 point shooter who is more than capable of playing the point guard position as well. She has great court vision and looks to push the ball in transition.
Lucy Palmer • Class of 2022 • 5’5 • Pos: G • Masconomet – Palmer distributes the ball nicely using ball fakes and strong skip passes. She really sees the floor well to find her open teammates. Palmer is also more than capable of knocking down the 3-ball.
Rebecca Lyons • Class of 2022 • 5’8 • Pos: G/F • Tyngsboro – Lyons has a slashing mentality, looking to get to the rim. She has quick feet that allows her to beat her defender along with good court vision to find her open teammates.
Chika Oyigbo • Class of 2022 • 5’6 • Pos: G • Tabor Academy – Oyigbo slashes hard into the paint to create opportunities. She passes well and has great vision within the half court offense. Oyigbo has an effective jab and go that allows her to attack the rim.
Team Saints 2022
Lexi Steeves • Class of 2022 • 5’8 • Pos: G • Pinkerton Academy – Steeves is a good spot up shooter who is also more than capable of scoring off the dribble. She has some nice slashing moves along with a soft touch on her floater that allows her to finish. Additionally, Steeves is a very confident and consistent free throw shooter.
Avah Ingalls • Class of 2022 • 5’9 • Pos: G • Pinkerton Academy – Ingalls is a great on-ball defender who makes the opposing ball handler uncomfortable. She chases down all loose balls, pushes the ball off steals and turnovers, and attacks the hoop strong. Ingalls is a solid spot up shooter as well.
Dara Ochnieng • Class of 2022 • 6’0 • Pos: G/F • Alvirne – Ochnieng is an active defender who has her hands up at all times. She is constantly getting in the passing lanes and tipping passes. On the offensive end, Ochnieng is a reliable free throw shooter.
Casey Ames • Class of 2022 • 5’7 • Pos: PG/G • Pinkerton Academy – Ames is a long range shooter who is also capable of playing the point position. She hits her teammates on targets and communicates extremely well with her teammates on both ends of the floor.
Amanda Hill • Class of 2022 • 6’1 • Pos: G/F • Governor’s Academy – Hill is a very well-rounded player who is capable of playing inside-out with her length. She plays her role well in the fast break offense. Hill moves well without the ball and cuts hard to the paint that goes nicely with her hook shot.. On the defensive end, she understands her role within her team’s run and jump zone pressure.
Gracie Serravillo • Class of 2019 • 5’9 • Pos: G • Guilderland – Serravillo is a very tough slashing guard who pushes the ball consistently in transition. She communicates well on both ends of the floor and plays tenacious defense.
Simone Walker • Class of 2020 • 5’7 • Pos: G • Shenendehowa – Walker is a great communicator on the court and is a tough guard. She is very strong and athletic, sees the floor well, and runs the floor hard in transition. On the defensive end, Walker closes-out to the ball under control.
Sareena Dicerbo • Class of 2020 • 5’10 • Pos: PG • South Colonie – Dicerbo is a strong and athletic rebounder for her position who looks to push the ball off defensive boards. She plays consistent straight up defense and doesn’t reach. On the offensive end, Dicerbo has a strong pull-up jumper.
Sarah Mattfeld • Class of 2021 • 5’9 • Pos: G • Catholic Central – Mattfeld is a taller guard who is very unselfish within the half court offense. She does a good job of reversing the ball and making the extra pass. Mattfeld is a decent pull-up jump shooter when she does decide to take it herself.
Kaitlyn Watrobski • Class of 2020 • 5’7 • Pos: PG/G • Shenendehowa – Watrobski has good court vision and breaks full court pressure well. On the offensive end, she has strong overall movement along with the ability to knock down deep 3’s.
#45 • Pos: G/F – Moves well without the ball, capable of attacking from the short corner, and finishes high off the glass.
#5 • Pos: PG – Uses change of speed and direction from the top of the key to attack. Reliable free throw shooter. Nice spot up from 3 with range. Moves well without the ball.
#43 • Pos: C – Seals and uses body well. Good back to the basket moves. Finishes high. Cleans the boards.
NY Havoc Silver
Ryleigh Endres • Class of 2022 • 5’3 • Pos: PG • Niskayuna – Endres has a nice stop and pop with the ability to finish on the break. She can attack from the short corner with a soft touch on her floater. On the defensive end, Endres is a tenacious on-ball defender.
Leah Phillips • Class of 2022 • 5’11 • Pos: F • Columbia – Phillips finishes strong around the rim and is consistent at the line. On the defensive end, she protects the basket well and is a strong interior defender.
Nicolina Lombardi • Class of 2022 • 5’5 • Pos: PG • Averill Park – Lombardi has a slashing mentality who takes contact and finishes. She never complains, plays one possession at a time, and hustles at ALL times.
Sophia Chevrier • Class of 2022 • 5’9 • Pos: F • Maple Hill – Chevrier has strong screen and roll concepts and can finish both right and left. She is a solid rebounder on both ends of the floor.
Savannah Moore • Class of 2022 • 5’8 • Pos: G • Central Valley Academy – Moore has the ability to finish awkward-angle shot attempts. She hustles on every possession and is always moving without the ball so that she is an option for her teammates.
NY Havoc White
Chessie Vassilakos • Class of 2022 • 5’3 • Pos: PG • Colonie – Vassilakos overall makes solid decisions and initiates the offense well. She keeps her head up and stays available when she doesn’t have the ball. On the defensive end. Vassilakos isn’t afraid to play defense in the paint or out the perimeter.
Anna Cholakis • Class of 2022 • 5’6 • Pos: PG • Shenendehowa – Cholakis is a good on-ball defender. On the offensive end, she is a good set shooter, makes strong skip passes, and runs the floor hard in transition.
Jalyn Walsh • Class of 2022 • 5’9 • Pos: F • Bethlehem – Walsh understands close-out and box out concepts. She communicates well with her teammates and has good vision within the half court offense.
