Janelle Johnson
Connecticut Top 2020 Player Rankings (Fall 2018)
USJN 17u National Championships: Johnson attacks the hoop hard right with her eyes up. She has some crafty finishes to avoid the defense. On the defensive end, she gives good on-ball pressure that makes opposing team’s ball handlers uncomfortable.
Hoop Mountain Academic Showcase 2018: Johnson is strong and smooth when she attacks off the dribble. She is very comfortable attacking and finishing with her right, but can work on her left.
2018 AAU Coach's Notes: Janelle is a very athletic wing. She is a menacing on ball defender, who can also cause havoc in a press. Janelle is a slasher, who has become a consistent 3 point threat. (Greg Thomas, CT Impact)
2017-18 PREP PROFILES: ST. LUKE'S SCHOOL
USJN National Championship: An athletic guard that loves to attack the basket with a full head of steam. Janelle is creative with her finishes when attacking. Would’ve liked to have seen her outside shot a bit more, but still has time to improve upon this area of her game.
Adidas Silver Gauntlet 2017: Attacks the rim; strong and can finish with contact; crafty finish in transition; looks to draw contact
Northeast Elite Showcase Review 2016: Demonstrated the ability to attack the rim. She is quick and athletic and shoed her ability to crash the boards and follow her own shots. She puts good pressure on the ball while on defense and forces the opposing ball handler into 5 second calls.
